Southern Ocean Tourist Park has earned a stellar reputation, boasting a 4.5-star rating on Google with nearly 300 reviews. Since joining Belgravia Pro in August 2023, Lisa has been instrumental in enhancing the guest experience, bringing her passion and expertise to every aspect of the park.

With over 30 years in hospitality, including roles as a Cruise Director, hotel manager in Adelaide, and motel owner in Hahndorf, Lisa’s diverse background shines through. Her dedication and leadership continue to make the park a standout destination, ensuring every guest enjoys an unforgettable stay.

Running Southern Ocean Tourist Park hasn’t been without challenges. The park’s seasonal nature and limited staff have pushed Lisa to think creatively. With a team of just five managing 262 sites, 12 cabins and villas and four amenities blocks, problem-solving has become key.

“One major issue we faced was guest complaints about the cleanliness of the amenities blocks during peak periods due to over with over 1000 guests in the park and being a beach location. So, you could understand that they will never be perfect,” Lisa explained.

However, Lisa implemented an early morning cleaning schedule at 3am to ensure the park’s first impression was fresh and welcoming. The staff, without hesitation, embraced the challenge and within six weeks, complaints turned into compliments, showcasing the team’s passion, commitment and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure a great guest experience.

During the peak summer period, Lisa enhanced the guest experience with local food trucks, distillery tastings and even Pilates and kids dance classes. “These initiatives have created an amazing atmosphere that guests continue to come back to enjoy.”

“But I couldn’t do it all without the team around me. The team work so hard and go above and beyond continuously, especially during peak times. I’m so proud of them,” Lisa continued.

Looking to the future, Lisa hopes to take on a mentoring position with Belgravia Leisure, sharing her wealth of experience with new hospitality professionals or stepping into relief management roles across Australia.

Lisa truly embodies what it means to provide a welcoming, exceptional experience for all who visit Southern Ocean Tourist Park.
